In Roswell for 25 years, Mittie’s has been the place to stop for a quick casual bite or take those special people in your life for a delightful memory. The Chicken Salads are their claim to fame, Bon Appetite has asked for the recipe twice now. But don’t stop there, the food is all freshly prepared, with organically inspired recipes and locally sourced ingredients.
And then there is the Tea, over 40 loose leaf varieties choices from around the globe. Mittie’s is also the place to host a variety of parties, showers, and wedding events, serving High Tea daily.
Mittie’s Tea Room, located in Historic Roswell Georgia, is named for Teddy Roosevelt’s mother Mittie Bulloch. Rumor has it that Mittie is the person that Margret Mitchel fashion Scarlett after in Gone With The Wind. You only have to take a short look around her childhood home, Bulloch Hall, and you will see Tara standing tall before your eyes!
Located for 20 years on the now bustling Canton Street, Mittie’s is where you would go when meeting anyone for lunch! It was still a sleepy little town then, 25 years ago when the Tea Room first opened its doors. As Roswell grew, so did the need for more space. You will now find Mittie’s serving it’s steaming bowl of Lobster Bisque just around the corner from its original spot .
The 25 Plum Tree Street home to Mittie’s is just perfect, in its quaint stone cottage with wonderful outdoor seating, nestled under the 65 year old pecan trees.
For original local flavors with friendly southern hospitality, Mittie’s is still serving up lasting memories. Visit Mittie’s Tea Room in Roswell Georgia, then catch a play at the Georgia Ensemble Theater or visit any of the three Antebellum Homes or just stroll around the Canton Street District. It will warm your soul to enjoy the tastes, smells and experience of a time gone by; when simple pleasures still satisfied …and they still do!!
